Hello City View Families,
Hopefully, everyone will stay safe and warm this week! Last week we had some weather disruptions to our days, and it looks like this week there may be more. This is a good time to remind your student that if they have an internship part of the expectation is to communicate with their onsite internship mentor about any delays. Student safety is our primary concern, so if school has a late start or cancelation it is 100% acceptable to not go to their internship on those days, but communication is crucial.
This Wednesday from 5-6 pm will be the first meeting of our parent advisory board (name pending!) Hopefully, this will be a consistent opportunity for parents to meet and discuss successes, concerns, support, and advice for our community.
As we continue to develop as a learning community we will continue to have shifts and changes in our practices. Getting your input on those shifts is of the utmost importance. In that spirit, I am excited to share the XQ Competency Framework with you. We would love any feedback our families have regarding these, and I encourage you to explore the XQ Competency Navigator to see one of the ways we are rethinking creating learning experiences for your students. This is a work in progress, but staff may explore these in practice this spring. On the backend, we are connecting all the district standards to appropriate component skills that make up the competencies to ensure we are meeting all the required standards through our work.
