Hello City View Families,
Thank you to everyone who attended last week’s Parent Information Meeting. We truly value your feedback and appreciate the support you bring to our community. Thanks to Luke Malone’s work, this Wednesday from 5–6pm, is the first official meeting of our new parent organization—formed to help strengthen and support our school. We’d love to see you there, and I’m sure he’d prefer someone else be in charge of it! 😉
Internships
More students are stepping into internships each week, thanks to Amanda Zhorne’s hard work and connections. We’re using Imblaze to track attendance and gather feedback on these experiences. It allows us to better monitor and support students in these real-world learning opportunities.
Iowa BIG Projects
We currently have about 30 students engaged in problem-based learning at Iowa BIG, tackling real-world issues and honing their critical thinking skills. This kind of hands-on, collaborative work can be demanding, and it truly empowers students to grow.
Abbi’s Hope in Motion 5K Fun Run
One Iowa BIG project is Abbi’s Hope in Motion—a 5K Fun Run happening on April 13 at Jefferson High School from 2–4pm. It honors Abbi Smith, who passed away from a rare brain tumor, and all proceeds go to her foundation (AAiH). Tashi, Michael, Angie, and Gabi are among the students leading the event, and we hope you’ll consider taking part or volunteering to support their meaningful work.
Thank you for your ongoing involvement at City View. We look forward to seeing you soon!
